It’s the same thing some people claimed about “war on drugs”. There are a lot of victims of the extrajudicial killings who never took part in using or dealing with drugs yet they were still killed unlawfully and who’s to say that it cannot happen again? Some police officers abused their ability to kill knowing that they would be protected and when this bill is passed, this can easily allow some of them to unrightfully arrest those who are simply speaking up their political opinions if they are against the government.
This can take away people’s freedom of speech and they can be arrested even without a case as long as they are accused of being a terrorist.
The Philippines has other problems that the government should focus on such as the alarming number of Covid-19 cases as it rises every single day. This bill has been considered “urgent” by Duterte but not the lack of mass testing which people have been talking about ever since the number of cases started to rise.
